  • Dr Charmaine Blanchard

    Dr Charmaine Blanchard

    Dr. Charmaine Blanchard is a dedicated medical practitioner specialising in palliative care based in Johannesburg, South Africa. She provides compassionate home-based services to patients, with a focus on making palliative care accessible and affordable as a multidisciplinary offering. In addition to her clinical work, Dr Blanchard serves as a senior lecturer and researcher in palliative and supportive care at the Strengthening Oncology Services Research Unit at the University of the Witwatersrand. She has a deep interest in person centred communication in Oncology.

  • Dr Shelley Kibel

    Dr Shelley Kibel

    Dr Shelley Kibel is a consultant palliative care practitioner working in Cape Town. She graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1981 and holds a Diploma in Palliative Medicine from UCT (2009). She has had many years of experience working in hospice and in the private sector.
    She has a special interest in the creative arts and how they can facilitate healing. She is a Reiki Master, Qi Gong Practitioner, artist, writer, flautist and mother of two.

  • Dr Dalene Van Jaarsveld

    Dr Dalene Van Jaarsveld

    Dr. Dalene van Jaarsveld is a compassionate Palliative Care Physician based in Bloemfontein, Free State. She is currently full-time employed in the Department of Oncology, providing palliative care with a team to all patients admitted to public hospitals in Bloemfontein. Working closely with Bloemfontein Hospice, she provides early integrated palliative care to both private and state patients in Bloemfontein and surrounding areas.
    She has dedicated herself to providing holistic, patient-centered care for individuals with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, heart failure, renal failure, and chronic lung and neurological diseases.
